Physical therapy question
I had pt again today on my shoulder. she used some kind of set up that taped to my shoulder and did a mini massage thru my shoulder, felt like little tini volts , didnt hurt.. but to try to stop the pain from going down my arms. tonight my shoulder is killing me . Has anyone had this, does it eventually work . and has anyone had a MRI and it didnt show much but you were in dire pain. what did you end up finding out. because Im ready to freak out over all this pain which my mri basically showed nothing .

What you had done was something called e-stim stands for electric stimulation. If it hurt when you were getting the treatement the settings were too high and too long. please let your Pt know.
I suggest that you try and ask for ultra- sound next time instead of a massage- and pay attention to symptoms when you are getting the treatment.
do you feel any sharp sudden pains that ‘go anywhere? (in the middle of your back?)
this would then suggest a possible disk problem with thoracic spine
why do i ask i had a neck MRi – for arm pain.. when in fact after i went thru that I asked the dr, could it be lower and not my neck.- ended up being thoracic spine and problem from when i fell into the hot-tub and smashed my chest onto the edge of a concrete tub

This is done to help stimulate healing. and no that should not hurt. I think you are in pain from the mini massage.
You could have Referred pain. What that means is that Your shoulder is hurting, but it is coming from a problem else where. and since you said “pain from going down your arms” leads me to believe that you may have something wrong with your neck.
Was the Mri just of your shoulder or was the neck involved too?
