my cat urinates on the leather couch?
My 3 yr old cat occasionally will urinate on the leather couch. We have bought everything possible to clean it. Last night he did it again. This time we had set the babies Portable changing table on the couch. This morning my husband found he had urinate again. I don’t know what to do. I didn’t want to get rid of the cat because he is a good mouser (gets rid of the mice in the summer) and he is very sweet. What do you think I should do?

I think your cat is trying to tell you this is HIS territory, and he is marking it so you’ll remember. In a word, he’s jealous.
Pay a great deal of attention to kitty in the coming months to show him he’s not losing his home. He needs encouragement and love. Also, you might want to try cleaning the couch with vinegar water. Vinegar chemically combines with the active ingredients in urine to make an inert salt and water, eliminating the scent. If the cat can smell ammonia in the couch (NH4) he will continue to think that this is an allowed litterbox area, because it still smells like cat pee.
If you notice that the cat pees whereever you leave baby things, it is definitely a territorial issue.
Get some Feliway. The stuff works great, is calming and spreads cat marking pheremone over the house to tell the cat that everything smelling like it belongs to him (ie his territory). I have 4 cats (no babies) and Feliway keeps them from fighting each other or being destructive. None of them has ever used the floor (or anywhere else) instead of the litterbox, even when I go away for the weekend, and all 4 boxes are overflowing with potty presents!
