How can I get a job when I’m overqualified?
I’m 27, have a B.S. in Biology, and a D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree. I’ve been out of work since I graduated from chiropractic college in September of 2010. I still need to pass 2 more exams (at least) before I’m able to get my license. No one will hire me for a menial job because I’m overqualified (I’ve omitted chiropractic school from my resume and applications, but they see the student loans on the credit check) and I can’t work as a chiropractor because I’m unlicensed. Unemployment isn’t an option because I haven’t worked in a full-time job long enough to qualify. I’ve got my resume on 3 or 4 different job search sites, and I’ve filled out over 100 job applications, and can’t even get my foot in the door. Anyone out there have any ideas? Please, I’m desperate and I’ll take anything. Even fast food places don’t want to take me.
i think maybe you can take a sales position of some sort till u get your license .there is a alot of shady companies that dont do any kind of checks at all,just keep looking.ive worked for same company for ten years and they have hired hundreds of people without any kind of back round checks,credit checks or drug tests,the pay will be low but it will be steady.good luck.
