c language while statement?
I have to learn the c language in 1 day. I have a while statement below that I can’t figure out what it means. The inversion just returns a count from 0 to 9. But I have never seen a format like how the while condition is set up. Can anyone explain that?

The single ampersand in C is a bitwise AND. The effect of ANDing with a 1 is to return the lowest bit. So “inversions & 1″ will be true (a 1, interpreted as “true”) if inversions is odd (has the lowest bit set) and false (0, interpreted as “false”) if inversions is even.
The effect of the do {…} while construction is that the statements will be executed at least once before the check is made. So it gets executed, and then keeps getting executed so long as inversions is an odd number. It won’t exit till inversions is even. This differs from the more common while(condition) {statements} construction. In that form, the check is done first and the statements might not be executed even once.
One last note about using numeric values in logical tests. 0 is treated as FALSE. Any nonzero value acts like TRUE.
