can a muscle stimulator machine cause heart trouble?
a few years back i was in a car accident and had back pain and i had to go to the chiropracter, and i was givem muscle stimulation therapy
these electrodes on a large band aid thing were put on my back for about half an hour 3 times a week.
and the voltage was pretty strong, to the point that it was unbarable and i would turn the muscle stimulator machine off, til i finally stopped going.
a few weeks later, i was having very very rapid heart beat and i later sw a cardiologist, and i was finally diagnosed with a condition called non-dilated idiopathic cardiomayopathy.
could the muscle stimulator machine caused my heart to go that way?

I have never heard of this causing a cardiomyopathy. The muscle stimulator just works locally to the area where it is applied, it can’t affect the heart muscle from that far away.
Cardiomyopathies aren’t anything that happens over night, it usually develops over a course of months to years. It is probably coincidental that you started having symptoms after the muscle stim, it more than likely was the trauma of the car accident that upset the balance of things in your body to become symptomatic. Idiopathic means that there is no clear cause for it.
Having a cardiomyopathy is going to be a life long disease that can be managed by regular follow up with your cardiologist, taking your meds and watching your diet for salt intake. Good luck.
