How can we fix our rabbit’s teeth?
Our rabbit (an angora dwarf) has lived with us for nearly 8 years and is a much loved member of our family. Unfortunately, over the last 6 months, her teeth have begun to grow like ‘tusks’, and in all different directions, making it very difficult for her to eat. We now have to clip her teeth at the vet every 2 months, which is very costly for us, and very unpleasant for her.
Her diet mainly consists of good quality pellets and leafy vegetables (broccoli, bok choi etc.). I’ve been told that she needs to eat grass and hay but, unlike our ravenous guinea pigs, she refuses to graze. We’ve ordered some herbal timothy hay but we are skeptical that she will eat it. How can we fix her teeth, we are at our wits’ end!
my bunny loves timothy hay she eats a ton of it and it really helps with her teeth. hopefully yours will like it too. my bunny also chews on lots of paper and phone books this could help too. another thing is a pumice stone this is specifically for helping keep the teeth down you can get one at a pet store also apple wood sticks .
