Good massage (remedial) or day spa in Brisbane (Australia)?
My friend has just had a baby after a difficult pregnancy and I’d like to get her a voucher for a remedial massage session or day spa care. She lives in Brisbane’s south eastern suburbs.
Can anyone recommend a baby-friendly spa or a home visit massage therapist?
Close by would be great but if recommending somewhere in another part of Brizzy, any idea re travel time would be great.
BTW, I have already tried the phone book and tourist advice but don’t know Brisbane well enough to know which place is nearby her home.

If she can possibly get a babysitter for a while, I believe that Rainesforest Retreat is the best place in Brisbane, and it’s very reasonably priced relative to the spas linked to 5-star hotels. It’s not in SE Brisbane, it’s in the inner west, but it shouldn’t be more than 30 mins drive, I wouldn’t think.
If you go to http://www.whereis.com/whereis/directions.do you can put in your friend’s address, and Rainesforest’s address (16 Priory St, Indooroopilly) and it will tell you the distance and time taken for the journey.
If that’s too big an adventure for her, and I know how hard it can be to get out as a Mum of young kids, then perhaps you might try “Mobile Healing Hands” at http://www.mhh.com.au/ I haven’t tried them but they are definitely therapeutic massage therapists.
Hope this helps – she’s lucky to have a friend like you! If she can make it to Rainesforest, she definitely has to find time for a spa after her treatment on the gorgeous decks under the canopy of the trees.
