get a bachelors in athletic training and then become a DPT?
i hope to become a doctor of physical therapy so is it a good idea to major in athletic training in my undergraduate year of college and then go to a graduate school for DPT? like will the classes i take in athletic training cover the prerequisites for the DPT program? and i know i will need some experience/hours under a PT or in a clinical setting so am i supposed to look for these hours on my own or will the athletic training program have covered them for me? i need help!
Your plan is fine. Your volunteer hours must be under a PT so unless the ATC is also a PT, it will not count.
Your pre reqs will include one year of gen chem, gen bio, gen phsyics, A and P, math through calculus, stats and psy.
