Is massage therapy a good field to work in?
I think thats a field that i want to go into. Im really good with working with people and i have no problem with interacting with people and their bodies, and people say i have a great smile.. what do u think?
You have to be a ‘people person’ most definitely, but it’s also about business and marketing, marketing, marketing. You won’t walk out of school, hang up a sign and have a business going. You never stop promoting yourself, everywhere you go and everyone you meet. Depending on what you decide to do (spa, chiro office, shop) you may have a full schedule one day and no one the next. If you’re an independent contractor working on a percentage, you’ll have days where you make no money at all. I still have days like that! You’ll never get rich doing it but you can make a living if you are determined, work hard and have a good touch. It can take several years to build up a reliable clientele, be prepared for that.
