coccyidia?? what is this, please explain all.?
What can be done to help this? I have had x-rays and have been told to either live w/ it, surgery, or phsyical therapy. Therapy seemed to work the 4 weeks I was referred, stopped after that. x-rays show bent in coccyx. Do not want to do surgery. I saw a chiro about it, but then my ins ran out and could not see him any longer. when i do get ins back, whats better more physical therapy or an chiro? It hurts bad at times, seems like some of the muslces are bad, and when i massage them hard it hurts but makes it feel better. Hurts bad if i sit too long, and worse if i stand to long, after standing too long, i can bend over and hear crrraccckckkk all down there. feels better when i do this. newest thing, last night, my bf was massaging it for me, and went ew…. that was gross it felt like i was popping some water in there, or some type of fluid. I have to sleep on a heating pad pretty high and take pain killers or i can not even sleep at night bc i can not get in a poisition thats comfy.
I don’t think it matters as much as whether you see a PT or a DC, but as to whether that provider has signficant experience treating that. It really is a specialty area and should only be treated by those who see this frequently. For instance, it is not part of the entry level education for a PT to address this, but those who specialize and complete contiuing education in pelvic floor rehab would be the most appropriate to see.
As far as DC…I’m not sure how often or what their entry level education is for this….but again, someone with significant training in this specialized area should be sought.
