How do i get into the beauty industry?
I did my hairdressing and have always wanted to get qualifications in make up and beauty therapy which I plan on going to tafe/college for that next year.
I am 20 years old and am working in an office job which I cant take anymore, only problem is my dad pulled strings to get me this job and would look bad on his part if I pulled out.
I have decided this is not what I want to continue doing and that I will have to tell my dad but I am making good money here and have rent/bills + college fees (not cheap) to pay and honestly can’t afford to do an apprentice again.
Questions –
1 – what is a good job I can get into in that kind of industry without experience while I study(that will help me earn decent money)?
2 – If I wanted to apply to be a manager at a beauty/hairdressing salon (even a clothes shop) do I need any qualifications?
the best thing to do would do a cert3 course in beauty thearpy part time while you still do your office job (only costs around $800 for a full year)
then you’d be qualified enough to work in the industry, aftwerwards you could decide to go for your diploma as well.
