Birth Plan… For Moms who have had natural births…?
I’m planning to have the natural birth.
Relaxation during labor? Like… dim lights, shower, massage, extra pillows, something like that.
Which positions for labor are better for you? Lunge, rocking, pelvic rock, squatting, leaning over bed, hands and knees or side-lying?
I had 3 natural births & I prefer the Lunge, & rocking. Rocking is great during labor pains, just make sure you breath & don’t hold your breath while rocking. I found that if I stand and lean over the bed it hurts much worse, it didn’t work on my hands & knees either.
While in labor I sat on a ball while in the shower, that was pretty relaxing. Having everything quiet without noise, was the way I prefered having my labor, that way I could concentrate on my labor. I did not have a labor longer than 7 hours with any of my children.
It will be individual to you, just try each different position until you figure what will be best for you. The best form of relaxation is for everything to be quiet. Don’t have anyone in the labor room with you but your mother & your husband. It gets too chaotic when you have all members of your family coming in & out, watching TV, laughing & talking continuously. You won’t be able to focus or relax with all that going on around you.
