Having ACL reconstruction surgery soon. How soon after do you think I can start working out upper body?
I will be following doctor orders re: the knee recovery and physical therapy. However, I was wondering how soon I can work out upper body at home, without moving or twisting my knee, using our multi-system weight machine, or hitting the heavy and speed bags, etc.
There is generally no restriction as long as you are performing these actions while seated. Upper body conditioning such as an upper body cycle, bicep curls and other seated resisted upper body exercise is often recommended to maintain your fitness. Speed bag and the heavy are probably out for now.
