Handling and ungrateful husband! advice please?
My husband has recently started his own business, he is very busy which is great but he is working a LOT, I am trying to make life as easy as possible for him, I work full time myself and do Avon part time and my beauty therapy also, I keep on top of keeping the house clean, the food shopping, tea is always on the table for him and a packed lunch made, I am pregnant with our first child and I realise that he may feel pressure to do well but I will always do whatever I can to make life easier for us and will work part time after the baby is born so I am not financially dependent on him
However I have found since he has started self employed that he is acting so much more superior. When he does come home he will make comments about the house being dirty, or a cupboard not being tidy, little things- he really doesn’t appreciate that I am working hard too. It always results in an arguement and will always end with him telling me he has no time for me, and hes had enough. what can I do?
You are both under huge pressure, from ever side.
In a quieter moment tell him how unhappy you are & explain you that you need to talk thing through.
OK, you’re right he’s working hard right now, but so are you. He needs to relaise that keeping a house clean on top of all the other things you are doing isn’t easy & maybe he should take a few hours in a week to help out.
Besides all the you both have a really good reason to sort this out quickly. There’s a baby on the way. That means in a while you’ll have to do less & he’ll have to do more if he wants to have a house that’s tidy to live in.
There will be less money coming in once the baby is born, that will add to the problems if you both have to work so hard now.
And then there’s the bad feeling around you both as a result of the problems…. not the idela situation to bring a new baby home.
So, I think, if you put that all to him he’ll realsie this is the beginning of some major changes & you both need to “team players” if you’re to enjoy the arrival of the new baby…. Good luck!
