Fussy baby, should I try him on soy formula?
My 3 month old was born 6 weeks early. He’s had bad colic for a couple of months now, I’ve tried just about everything (ie, gripe water, mylicon drops, white noise, rocking, soothers, massage, a swing, etc) and nothing seems to help him. He’s the happiest after his first bottle in the morning for about 30 minutes, then its all down hill from there for the rest of the day…he’s just very fussy and hard to console.
I had him on the Parent’s choice gentle formula and am now considering switching him to soy to give that a try, I’m wondering if maybe he has an intolerance to milk. Should I try this or does anyone have any better recommendations?
my boy was the same way…inconsolable as heck.
we tried putting him on soy but it turned out he was teething.
i’d say go for the soy, it wont hurt him.
it might help him, but if not, have you taken him to a doctor?
he could be sick, or coming down with something.
or if he’s drooling a lot he could be teething.
if he’s teething, he might want a teething ring to chew on or just let him chew on your finger. it helps.
or maybe he is constipated?
there are so many possibilities with babies since they cant tell you whats wrong.
my suggestion is go ahead and try soy.
if it doesnt change, see a doctor and ask if its possible he’s teething or sick.
if nothing else, they’ll be able to tell you whats wrong.
